Le Mur des Artistes

Le mot du taulier
I have been a proud Vallejoan for over a quarter of a century. When I originally came to Vallejo, I was stricken by the resemblance between this part of the bay and the south of France. As I learned about its rich historical past, and its naval presence, I found it reminiscent of a city like Toulon. I was intrigued by the relationship between the city, the bay, the river and its marsh lands…introduce some bulls and it might resemble Camargue. And because of its diversity and waterfront location, it reminded me of Marseille. Fast forward 25 years, and I am finally checking off one very significant and near to my heart bucket list item, which is owning my own café. People who know me will tell you that I am a history buff. I also appreciate good food (obviously), music, art, poetry, and of course meeting people! For the above reasons, downtown beckons as a home for our new café. I truly hope to fulfill some of these passions, and to create a space where local artists will be able to display their works, and local musicians and poets can perform their art. I hope we can count on you for your support and allow our artists to bloom!

I like to think of my photos as vessels for these collections, my shoebox of memories, if you will. […]

It took a 2009 car accident for me to start living my childhood dreams. Riddled with an illness that left me unable to work, I longed for joy and found it at the end of my paintbrush. My life changed again as I was picked to participate in the Vallejo Art Windows program which […]
